On April 30 Baku Business Center hosted the final awarding ceremony of "New Idea 2016 Contest" (NIC) organized by Qafqaz University for the formation of innovative businesses.

"New Idea 2016 Competition" held at High-tech park of Qafqaz University, aimed at supporting innovative entrepreneurship and sustainable social and economic development, and promoting the development of ICT , supporting creative and enterprising young people to establish their own companies and to develop their innovative ideas, as well as playing the role of a bridge between investors.

The contest was organized by "QUTechnopark" with the partnership of "Khazar Ventures", "Sup.az" and "KOÇ System Azerbaijan".

The event was attended by the representatives of universities, research institutions, business organizations, media and opened by the Qafqaz University rector, Professor Ahmet Sanich. Professor  introduced the jury members - the chairman of the Retailers Association Madat Rustamov, Caucasus University Deputy director, "QUTechnopark" Board Chairman, Professor Shahin Durmaz, Sup Accelerator - Director, Nail Valiyev and others.

Afterwards, Vice-President of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies Rufat Mammadov, representative of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and founder of "NIC 2016," sponsor and leading partner "Khazar Ventures” Mammad Karim, "NIC 2016” partner and "Koc Sistem Azerbaijan" representative and "KoçSistem Azerbaijan" Sales and Business director Firat Saghlik,  "QUTechnopark" director and "New Idea Contest" Project manager Isa Gasimov wished success to the participants of the event and spoke about its benefits to our society.

Then the finalists startup teams presented their projects. The winners were awarded at the end of the event.

Note that head of department of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS, PhD in Economics, associate professor Alovsat Aliyev attended the event. He made a speech and gave detailed information about the problems of innovation and knowledge economy formation.
