On May 21, Baku Modern School hosted the opening ceremony of "Robotics and Engineering" Additional Education Centre. The event was attended by the professionals, representatives of the private and public organizations in the field of information technology (IT).

The teachers and students demonstrated their robot and lego-design developed with the leadership and support of the Deputy director in ICT Gulnara Salimova.

Baku State University associate professor Ramin Mahmudzadeh and Azerbaijan Internet Forum President Osman Gunduz made speeches and highly appreciated the robot exhibition.

Speaking at the Roundtable meeting, department head of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS, associate professor Alovsat Aliyev informed about the researches conducted in ANAS for the informatization of education. He mentioned the special attention of the administration and the state to the development of ICT, and stressed the importance of the “National Strategy for the development of information society in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2014-2020". The modern state and society with knowledge-based information society and innovative economy can not be imagined without ICT, in particular, a wide range of robot technology.

Afterward, the Ministry of Education, Department of Education System Informatization Data Center representative Orkhan Abbasov, informatika.az website manager Naida Isayeva, "Baku" publishing director Zaur Isayev, the National Aviation Academy representative Fuad Dadashov, "Edumedia Azerbaijan" director Elkhan Azizov, Ombudsman Office chief specialist Anar Novruzov and others highly appreciated the event.
