28^th Khwarizmi International Award (KIA) is organized by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology (IROST). The purpose of the annual awarding ceremony is to recognize outstanding scientific achievement made by researchers, inventors and innovators from all over the world.

Fields of participation include aerospace, agriculture, basic sciences, biotechnology, engineering (all fields), information technology, material sciences, mechatronics, medical sciences, nanotechnology, renewable energy.

Research works should fall into one of the following categories: applied research, research and development, fundamental research, invention and innovation.

Deadline for submission: 10^th November, 2014.

Announcement to the KIA laureates: 2^nd week of January, 2015.

Award ceremony: February, 2015.
