 Institute was founded in 1972 at the Department of Automatized Managing Systems near the Institute of Cybernetics of ANAS. Since 1982 AMSD acts individually. In 1997 Information-Telecommunication Scientific Centre based on AMSD has been created.
On May 21, 2002 the Institute of Information Technologies based on ITSC was created.
Staff potencial of the Institute
Nowadays
250 workers are at the Institute. Generally high qualified specialists
consisting all segments of IT work there. 3 academicians, 7 Doctors of science,
14 Candidatures of Sciences, 9 Post-graduators, 12 dissertants are busy on
research-works.
Recently the Institute have ensured of different structures of our Republic with carious specialists: BP, Azercell, Defence organs, "RISK", "Intrans" BM,
"SINAMIVEST", "ADANET", Azerbaijan State Economic
University, University of Architecture and
Construction, Academy of Management, National Bank, Space, State Committee of Customs,
Ministry of Taxes, AAK, UNESCO, an Office of ASCE in Kosovo, Banks of Commerce, firms and so on.
About technical guarantee and conditions for workers
The
main departments of the Institute are situated in F.Agayev 9, 7 storied
building, half part of the second floor, fully the third and fourth floors, half
part of second floor of ANAS and in the first floor of the Presidium.
More
than a hundred computers like
Pentium, a lot of scanners, printers and other net-telecommunication equipments
can be used by workers. All computers have been connected to internet and
there are no limits for their usage.
Modern
"Information Service" for ensuring the workers of the Institute with
scientific-technical information have been create. "Information
service" is
composed of library, electronic library, getting needed information through
internet, creation of dynamically formed intellectual information funds based on
CDN technologies and other chances.
So
the colleagues of the Institute are ensured regularly with all scientific,
scientific-practical, technological, popular and other books and journals
published in former USSR. They subscribed for
English language electronic libraries as IEEE, ACM and they can entry chances
for e-journals by Springer, Blackwell. Regularly the workers of the Institute
can get information about international conferences, forums planning in
different places of the world in IT sphere.
Main scientific-technical achievements of the Institute
WAN-global net technologies (X25, SNA, DECNET, TCP/IP
and so on) have been investigated and gained the real practical results for
the first time in Republic (x.25 net has been formed between
Moscow-Baku-Tbilisi). LAN-local net technologies (Alisa, Arcnet, Ethernet
wirely, wireless, intranet, etc) for the first time have been investigated
and applied in different places of Azerbaijan. Web technology has been
created and
www.science.az site of ANAS were formed. Corporative net for the Presidium of ANAS as test
was founded in Azerbaijan. Firstly in our Republic electronic number sign
technology in corporative net environment of ANAS has been applied.
Electronic circulation system of documents in corporative net environment of
ANAS have been prepared and applied. Being unique in world practice yet,
composing all institutes of ANAS and organizations, their department and
laboratories, having Internet sites, intellectual Intranet have been formed
and at present it was applied regularly. Being unique in world practice yet,
the Presidium of ANAS, its Departments, all members and
correspondence-members, Doctors of Science, institutes and organizations,
laboratories, expressing information about different spheres in Azerbaijan,
Russian and English, web portal consisting 3242 fail and 120 books (200
pages) were created and applied.
For the first time in our Republic audio conferences and videoconferences
have been organized on Internet. Several state importance works have been
done for strengthening Defence of the Republic:
- Orerative refine system for flying information in "black boxes"
of fighting planes had been prepared and at present is applied
successfully in all military aerodromes.
- Knowing flying objects for Defence system from air attack and by
special corporative net information transferring system for control
punks was created.
- Realizing system of the control of passengers to all stations in
Baku subway have been prepared. By the way applying counter were
produced at this Institute.
- Special corporative audio information net giving a chance for
operative accumulation of service speech of machinists of trains in
Baku subway, station workers, dispatchers have been prepared and
applied.
- The colleagues of the Institute realized the project "Virtual
Silk Way" and regularly make a service to some educational
institutions of our Republic.
- The colleagues of the Institute for the first time have created
the national infrastructure of Internet in Azerbaijan.
